The perfect mod for any Ascian roleplayers or enthusiasts, or anyone that likes to look badass and float while casting spells and walking around.
This mod replaces all animations for Astrologian, Black Mage, White Mage, Blue Mage, Pictomancer, Red Mage, Scholar, Sage, and Summoner. It replaces them with the unique hovering casting animations used by the dungeon bosses Lahabrea and Igeyorhm, also used by the trial boss Nabriales.
Because of the nature of the animations - all casting jobs use the main action.pap - I had to bundle all of these jobs together into one instead of doing them separately or offering them as separate options as I had initially intended. Essentially, it was all or nothing, because they would overwrite each other otherwise (even with load order adjustments).
Additionally, the Teleport standard animation has been replaced with the Ascian floating charge.
If you want to cast spells without a catalyst for additional coolness, an option for Invisible Weapons has been included with the mod, one for each magic job. Below is the list of weapons made invisible:
BLM: Giantsgall Longstaff
RDM: Palladium Tuck
WHM: Giantsgall Cane
PCT: Palm Round Brush
SMN/SCH: Weathered Grimoire
AST: Giantsgall Starglobe
SGE: Stonegold Milpreves
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
There are only a couple of actions that refused to change their animations when I replaced their .hkx file, which is the same method used for the hundreds of actions I did successfully replace, so they are still vanilla. These are:
SMN - Enkindle Pheonix, Slipstream
BLM - Amplification (works for Elezen(?))
SGE - Phlegma III (potentially also Phlegma I & II)
PCT - Retribution of the Madeen, Clawed Muse
PICTO NOTES:
Motif painting can look a little goofy with the Ascian animations, as those animations are very unique and especially for a caster, so it doesnt loop very well or look very smooth. I decided to keep them in but may remove later, or add an option.
Hammer Stamp was not changed on purpose, because I still want to slam da big hammer.
SMN NOTES:
Crimson Cyclone was not changed, since it is a close-range melee attack, it would look goofy with Ascian animations.
RDM NOTES:
The rapier attack combo was not changed, since it is a close-range melee attack, it would look goofy with Ascian animations. Even if you are using an invisible weapon, the default VFX is enough to make it look like you are slashing with a magical sword.
BLU NOTES:
All Blue Mage actions that use the standard Blue Mage casting animation (90%+ of them) have been changed to the Ascian animations. The exception(s) to this are the Blue Mage actions with unique animations (Eruption, Glass Dance, etc. (think primals)) - this is because there are very many of them, and I frankly just didn't feel like replacing them all.
MISCELLANEOUS NOTES:
If you encounter any problems or issues, please be aware that this mod will most likely conflict heavily with any other animation mods that touch any of these jobs' actions.
No VFX has been edited or changed, so all VFX is still vanilla. Only animations were changed. So custom VFX - that is ONLY VFX - should be compatible.
