This replaces the sounds for the Intermission mechanic in Hell on Rails (Extreme) to make it easier to hear for us hard-of-hearing gamers. In some cases, the original sound is replaced, and in others, the sound is overlaid on top of the original sound, but the original timing is always preserved.
Affects the following mechanics:- Intermission: changes the smokestack rumbling noise that plays either 2 or 3 times to indicate Pairs or Spread AoEs.
- Phase 4 & Phase 6: changes the "snap" sound effect that plays during the baited AoEs mechanic.
- Phase 4 & Phase 6: changes the electrical buzzing sound effect that plays during the Arcane Revelation mechanic, which indicates when the AoE is going to stop moving and "land."
Each sound replacement can be toggled separately in the options.
Installation:Add using Penumbra, set to affect the "Base" and "Interface" assignments.
Change the mod's settings to affect the mechanics of your choosing.
IMPORTANT: Restart your game after enabling the mod to apply soundbank changes.
PreviewsThis is the sound I used- it's a general-purpose sound, but I believe it's also the alert sound that plays in FFXIV when certain encounter mechanics start (introduced in Dawntrail).
