Founded originally by Sharlayans heeding the warnings of the Omen Ouroboros, this organization dedicated itself to the prevention of the Seventh Umbral Calamity, which was described as the disasterous Seventh Turn in said prophetical text. Much like the Yok Huy of Tural, those in the Scales believed that serpents governed the boundary 'twixt worlds, hence in preventing a Calamity, they took on the name representing the great rumored Jormungand, Devourers. Of those who dedicated themselves to this way of life, they became known as the Serpentsworn.
