This is something I always wanted to do. There's a high pitched screeching sound accompanied by green lines coming out of the character's model that occurs every time someone lands a combo correctly. There's currently no option given by SE to remove or lower this feature down and that has been the case for as long as ARR exists.
This mod removes the SFX or both the VFX and SFX. The goal is to provide a cleaner look and sound on skill animations and their respective sound effects without the cacophony generated by that sound. A personal recommendation to further improve your experience is to also lower down the volume of your party members and other PCs under "System Configuration => Sound".
Under the "Files" tab you can find a preview uploaded to youtube of this mod. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, under the same tab there's a google drive link to the sound itself so you can identify it (and hate it next time you land a combo).
As stated before, there is two options:
- Gets rid of everything (recommended and default option)
- Just gets rid of the sound effect in case you want to retain the VFX (under "Files" Tab);
