Metadata for chest is not broken, the issue is that you cannot use gloves that hide your elbows, for whatever reason this hides the first and puts it beneath the feet in a very weird way. The gloves that come with the pack have had their metadata altered to allow for it to not hide the elbows so that this does not occur. If the error keeps happening, edit the gloves metadata in textools to not hide the elbows.

I'm a HUGE fan of Dark Souls, and the Cryptlurker set of fending really does it for me. But especially on midlanders the proportions felt so weird and chonky. I fixed that and added a few tweaks to make it feel and look more Dark Soul-esque and more bad ass to me.
