Cut through the clutter with minimal VFX that keeps your Samurai’s blade and footwork in crisp focus.Building on this mod’s original release—which trimmed away overly flashy effects to emphasize core Weaponskill animations—this update not only reworks the AoE toolkit for greater clarity and impact, but also covers all new Samurai actions introduced in the
7.0 Dawnwalker expansion.
I’ve further refined the mod to ensure compatibility across all races (
except male Viera which is totally broken due to their unique bone mapping), and I’ve introduced
Role Action mods that seamlessly adapt based on the activating job—offering a dynamic, multiclass-friendly experience.

What's Changed? ════════
Scaled-Up AoE VisualsThe minimal effects from the first version often got lost amid crowds of enemies. I’ve enhanced the clarity of AoE VFX to ensure every strike is both visible and impactful.
Fresh AnimationsBy leveraging newly available moves from VPR and DRK, I’ve remixed Samurai’s AoE actions for an entirely fresh look and feel—without losing the job’s signature style.
Single-Target ConsistencyThe single-target actions remain largely unchanged, preserving the precision and fluid movement you loved in the original version.

New Action Overviews ════════
Gyofu:I wasn’t satisfied with the new sound and fidgety motion in this upgraded version of Hakaze. I love Hakaze’s natural fluidity, so Gyofu now mirrors that exact motion.
Tendo Setsugekka → Tendo Kaeshi Setsugekka The Issue:These new level 100 finishing signature moves originally suffered from jarring transitions and awkward pacing. Tendo Setsugekka attempted to cram three slow swings into one GCD, causing its final slash to clip when chaining into Tendo Kaeshi Setsugekka. Meanwhile, Kaeshi suffered from an uncharacteristically slow windup—the only Kaeshi Iaijutsu that doesn’t instantly unleash a brutal slash—disrupting the natural flow of Samurai gameplay. Additionally, the movement transition from a mid-air slice to a ground-crouched start further broke the momentum.
Tendo Setsugekka:The revision delivers rapid, front-loaded slices with a distinct rhythm and appealing sound. The motion now fluidly transitions into Kaeshi Setsugekka—and even aligns well with my modified versions of Shoha and Senei. I maintained the original flashy visual effects during the charge-up (this being the most powerful Samurai attack) while reducing clutter during the swings to make each motion clearer.
Tendo Kaeshi Setsugekka:I’ve reworked this attack to mirror the other Kaeshi moves—a swift, brutal opening slash. Designed to feel like an upgraded version of Midare, it now features motions reminiscent of Midare’s signature swings and finishing flourish, but delivers three hits instead of two.
Tendo Goken:While the original visuals were appealing, the blade flourish felt more like a whip crack than a decisive cut. The updated version features improved momentum and more streamlined VFX for a sharper, more impactful finish.
Zanshin:This new Ability looks like a more pronounced Shifu, but often the motion gets cancelled mid-jump given Samurai’s extremely short oGCD windows. Now fully overhauled, its new form draws on Namikiri-style visuals (perfect since both share the same trigger) and features a much faster dual striking motion making it feel right at home in the Samurai arsenal.
