Author's Comments:
Reinvigorate your patriotic fervor to the Empire with the wonders of magitek using this popular civilian model radio, as seen in the Endwalker quest How the Mighty Are Fallen. Includes ten Censor-approved musical recordings for your listening pleasure.
A huge thanks to taco1932 for helping me work out the sound issues.
Q&A
Q: How did you make this?
A: Trade secrets :) The explanation isn't all that straightforward, sadly.
Q: Are you sure all of these tracks are Garlean? Do they even exist in canon?
A: Most are Garlean, or at the very least fit the Garlean vibe. Whether they explicitly exist in canon is a different question, but I'd like to believe they do.
Q: How do I swap between the music tracks?
A: Use the dropdown menu in the mod's settings in Penumbra.
Known Issues:
• Though not fallen or entirely dismantled, the Garlean Empire has been severely weakened following the assassination of the Emperor Varis zos Galvus, a civil war for succession destroying the majority of the capital, the exile of Emperor Zenos zos Galvus, the alleged death of the entire royal family (Titus still remains unaccounted for as of Patch 6.5), and the ongoing rebellions in the provinces. The interim government has yet to name a new Emperor, or officially declare the reformation of the Garlean Empire into a new political system.
• Final Fantasy XIV has no grandiose public speeches made by either Solus zos Galvus, Varis zos Galvus, or Zenos yae Galvus to the Garlean people by default. I considered making custom ones using AI, but that would be venturing too deeply into fanon territory.
• The audio will briefly play and then reset when first spawned in. A fix was attempted by adding a slight delay to the beginning of the track, but this caused disruptions to the music looping. This issue can be bypassed by spawning in the radio turned off, and then swapping the mod variant to whichever track you want it to play before redrawing the model in Penumbra.
• The geode mounted onto the radio does not shine as it does on the original model, due to an issue with the materials. All attempts to fix it have failed.
